Thomas Seeley

 

 Author of several books, Honeybee Ecology (1985), The Wisdom of the Hive (1996), Honeybee Democracy (2010), Following the Wild Bees. The Craft and Science of Bee Hunting. (2016)

And soon arriving in Spring 2024, his new book, Piping Hot Bees and Boisterous Buzz-Runners.   Solving 20 Mysteries of Honey Bee Behavior. 

Seeley has been an active beekeeper since he was in the 11’th grade and has decades of wisdom to show for it. 

Today he is the Horace White Professor in Biology, in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. However his research often takes him into the fields of Dyce Lab for Honey Bee Studies at Cornell, into the Arnot Teaching and Research Forest  and event to Appledore Island off the coast of Maine.

A lifelong learner and passionate beekeeping enthusiast, Seeley has been a tremendous contributor to the beekeeping community.
